4 Ways to host the best Harry Potter themed Halloween Party

If you've ever dreamed of spending Halloween at Hogwarts, you're not alone! We, too, dream of a whimsical and spooky day in the Great Hall, in the pumpkin patch with Hagrid, or fighting a troll in the bathroom. Having a themed party is a fantastic way to bring the enchantment to life and here are the four best ways to host an amazing Harry Potter-themed Halloween party.

  1. Transform your home into Hogwarts

If you can’t go to Hogwarts, bring Hogwarts to you. Hang some house banners and flags around your house to recreate the ambiance of the Common Rooms or the Great Hall. While we can't make pumpkins fly from the ceiling like in the Enchanted Ceiling, carve some pumpkins, and place them strategically in your living room to create the eerie Halloween atmosphere we are looking for!

  1. Dress up as Hogwarts students

Students at Hogwarts are required to wear their uniforms everyday and almost everywhere in the castle, so you should encourage your guests to embrace their inner wizards and witches. The iconic robes are a must-have, of course! Their long black cape provides a mythical look that will make you resemble any wizarding student from the Harry Potter universe. Pair the robe with black pants or a black student skirt and a white shirt to adorn with your house tie, the perfect way to show if you are a Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw or Slytherin.

If October 31st is a chilly evening, keep warm with a student sweater, a house scarf and even a matching beanie!

  1. Create Honeydukes-inspired treats

No Harry Potter Halloween party would be complete without a feast of magical treats. Don’t worry,  you don't need to be a master chef to create these sweets are actually pretty easy to make. Stamp your cookie dough with our houses cookie stamps or our characters' cookie cutters before baking for adorable Harry Potter-inspired snacks. For chocolate lovers, make your own Chocolate Frogs, Gringotts Chocolate Coins or create cute Chocolate Characters with our molds. These treats are surprisingly easy to make and will impress your guests.

  1. Prepare enchanting gift bags for your guest

You went trick or treating, you ate all your candies and watched a Harry Potter movie and your guests are preparing now to depart, surprise them with enchanting gift bags. It doesn't have to be an extravagant gesture; a small token of appreciation will do. Include a Gomee representing each guest’s favorite Harry Potter character, one extra Chocolate Frog you made and decorate your little bag with some Hogwarts stickers and it’s done! This thoughtful gesture will leave a lasting impression and ensure your party is remembered as the best Harry Potter Halloween celebration ever.
