Harry Potter: Treats from the saga

“Anything off the trolley, dears?” - Trolley Witch, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

While the weather is still cool and frosty outside, our bet is you’ll be rewatching all the Harry Potter films. Totally relatable as that is what we’re planning to do all winter long!

Rewatching the most loved film series of all time(we’re a little biased, you see), will have you discovering magical dishes and desserts. As you’ve probably seen from the Harry Potter films, there are plenty of sweet treats that are to be found in the Wizarding World. Most of the treats though are not necessarily the most mouth watering to look at, but they sure are exciting to feast on! In this article, we rounded up the most iconic of them, including how you can make them at the comfort of your home.

1. Chocolate Frogs

As the name suggests, this treat is chocolate in the form of a frog (yikes!). Although it sounds and looks freaky, this treat is well-loved in the Wizarding World. Creating your own isn’t at all difficult if you are to use our own Chocolate Frog Mold. The benefit of making it your own is you get to choose your favorite chocolate to use and our mold also comes with 12 Wizard cards and 6 boxes so it looks just like the ones from the movie. Check out this tutorial to learn how to make them!

2. Gringotts Chocolate Coins

If you love chocolates but don’t enjoy seeing them in frog shapes, then you’re probably going to love these! Used as the main currency in the Wizarding World, the Gringotts coins are indeed valuable to every wizard. Thus, joining our list of treats would be our homemade Gringotts Chocolate Coins. It's time to create your own bag of chocolate coins using our silicone mold and Gringotts Coin foil papers. Read our blog How to make your own Gringotts Chocolate coins | Recipe to find out more.

3. Bertie Botts ‘s Every Flavor Beans

If the name isn’t evident enough, this treat from the Wizarding World has all the possible flavors you can think of. From regular flavors like chocolates, peppermint, to less desirable flavors like spinach, liver and tripe, this treat has got it all. If you’re planning to indulge in regular and funky jelly bean flavors then you're in luck as there are jelly bean treats available in the market that will lead you to this culinary experience, just like what Harry experienced during his first time on the Hogwarts Express.

4. Happee Birthdae Harry Cake

Probably the most iconic treat from the first Harry Potter film, Harry’s birthday cake from Hagrid can’t miss this list. This cake is very versatile and could be done in any kind of batter you’d like as long as you don’t forget the most important visual aspect, that is the pink icing and green icing text on top of the cake. If you’d like to make your own and unsure of which recipe to follow, we recommend you to have a look at our blog Hagrid's birthday cake recipe

Indeed, amongst all the adventures in each of the Harry Potter films, we are also introduced to various magical treats that add extra flavor to the story. We can’t wait for you to try these treats out yourself during your Harry Potter movie marathons or Harry Potter themed parties this winter season!
